The main inspiration for my work are the sheep that define and punctuate our local landscape. There are over eight million sheep in Wales, and as well as providing food and wool, they make us smile with their uniquely expressive faces.
I work almost exclusively with sheep’s fleece (the odd Pembrokeshire Alpaca has crept in). I use a mixture of needle felting and wet felting techniques to make wallhangings, coasters, pincushions, brooches, needlecases, boxes, paperweights and anything else that occurs to me.
With cheerful landscapes and quirky little creatures, like the sheep that inspire me, I also hope to encourage the odd smile.
